Your photographs

Photographs you add, along with their dates and any notes, are stored in your library on your device. They are never sent to Izuba, and never seen by Izuba or anyone else. If your device is backed up to iCloud or to a computer, Patina's data is included in that backup, under Apple's terms rather than ours.

Optional iCloud sync

You can turn on sync so your library follows you to your other devices. It is off unless you turn it on. When it is on, your photographs, dates and notes are kept in a private iCloud database held under your own Apple account, where only you can read them. Izuba has no access to the contents of that database, and no account of yours. Turning sync off leaves the library on your device.

The camera and your photo library

Patina asks for camera access only when you choose to photograph an object. Photographs you take are written straight into Patina's own storage and are not added to your photo library.

Choosing an existing photograph uses Apple's system picker. Patina receives only the single image you pick, and has no access to the rest of your library.

Notifications

If you turn on a reminder for an object, Patina schedules a local notification on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, and no notification content leaves your device.

Deleting your data

Deleting an object removes its photographs and observations from the device immediately. Deleting the app removes everything.

Children

Patina collects no data from anyone, of any age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Because Patina collects nothing today, any change would mean a change to the app itself, which would also be described in its release notes.
